idles rough help?
I recently put on a extreme boost turbo kit on my 91' turbo mr2 with a complete fuel system, supra 550cc injectors, supra tt fuel pump, turbo xs fuel regulator and all stainless steel lines i also have a apexi afc2 controller and boost controller my problem is when i go out to start the car it blows black smoke out the exhaust and it idles rough as hell and when i go to put it in gear it shuts off, ive put new gas in and changed the spark plugs , the plugs in it were black, i was wondering what would cause this and how to fix it any info will help out alot thanks, i dont know if its getting to much fuel or not.

Re: idles rough help?
If your spark is like powder black with no oil then you are running rich. If it has oil in it, you are problably burning oil. You have to take it to a dyno shop and tune it properly.

You are running excessively rich.
550s + fuel pump is a lot of gas ... you need to have the car tuned. Chances are you are going to have to bring down your base-idle FP.

Re: idles rough help?
I just put 550's in mine and it blows black smoke like hell and the oil smelt like fuel. I need to tune it way down. Jekyl, do you have an AFC? If so, how much fuel are you taking out at idle?

Unfortunately, if I give you my settings on my SAFC they will do you no good. I am also using an HKS VPC and an adjustable fuel pressure regulator.
Messing with your fuel (too rich or too lean) is asking for trouble. Spend the $$ on getting it dyno tuned ... it is your safest bet. If you only have the SAFC, I recommend you get an adjustable FPR so you do not have to lean things out with just the SAFC (very dangerous). With an adjustable FP, you can lower your base-idle FP.
