Newbie needs Odyssey help!!

Hi, I'm relatively new here and need some basic help on my van. I just inherited a 1995 Odyssey and want to improve the performance and handling on a budget. I've ordered a cold air intake for the 1994-1997 Accord because it was listed to fit the Oddy too. I've also got poly bushings for the front bar and endlinks. I'd like to baby-step my way back the exhaust, but want to know what Accord parts will fit the Oddy. I know the engine is a B22A6, does this equate to an Accord LX? Will an Accord header and cat work under the Oddy? I figure most of the exhaust will have to be custom done at a local shop since the van will differ from even an Accord wagon underneath. I REALLY appreciate any help you guys can offer. In the interest of $$, I'll prolly keep 15" wheels and tires, and keep it stock looking; but I want better acceleration and a little better handling.

Thanks! Darrell

My bad...I'm not familiar witht he Honda engine codes. It's an F22B6, the same engine the Accords used, SOHC, non-VTEC.

Re: Newbie needs Odyssey help!!

good thing about a van... plenty of space for a kickass sound system... performance wise I dunno. the sheer aerodynamics of a van are not great for any performance.. guess you can improve the engine specs a bit, and I'm not sure about the engine in your van, kinda doubting it's the same as in my accord.. and that cold air intake you got may need some cutting to fit..

Ody help

I have a '95 ody also. I'm doing similar mods. I recently bought an accord cold air intake and fits almost perfectly. I've got a custom dual exhaust with apexi mufflers. I dont have headers, but I bought a parts list for the same year accord and the headers are the same for the EX model. My exhaust is a custom catback done at an exhaust shop in my town. I will post the link for the pictures as soon. I checked into coilovers or suspension ALL OVER the damn place. Noone sells them in the US, so an import shop is supposed to order me a new suspension with coilovers and shocks--full new suspension by JIC. They are ordering them from a shop in CALI that imports parts. Price for new susp shipped is 1300. Kind of steep, but JIC is up there with TEIN, so it should be a good ride. I'm planning on doing an H22A swap in the next 5 months or so. I want to do a manual swap and will cost about 3300, minus the clutch master cylinder and price for installation. Also have to import a new driver side axle from an Integra XSI or XSR... something like that, but thats another 500 or 600 shipped and the prelude pass. axle is supposed to work as it is. After the swap, it should be pushing 200 hp stock on the h22a. Should run 15s or high 14s at the strip and maybe some low 14s with nitrous or turbo. But anyways, youre going to have to spend some $$ to get your Hatchback further than headers and intake because nothing is for the ody in the US, so everything has to be imported. The ODYCLUB.com is a good forum for basic mods and stuff. Im sure if you find an import shop, they can help you with modding. This is an ody in Cali http://www.speedoptions.com/features/cars.php?carID=55 ....very cool, but says best time is 16 at the strip???. Gotta get the manual swap. I believe a strut bar for the front would fit from an accord the same year--according to this parts list i have. The distances are the same from shock tower to shock tower. Odyclub.com has got some nice odys, you just have to look through the site for the pics.

Hope this helped.
