Re: tire to engine size

I have been running 32" tires on my 4 cylinder Wrangler for the last 2 years now. You will notice a loss of power when using 5th gear, especially when approaching any sort of incline on the highway. It's not a big issue for me, I just accept it . Changing to to a high performance air intake system will help restore some lost torque. Keep in mind you will need to lift your jeep somewhat for clearance. I'm running a 3.5" suspension lift and 1" body lift ( I was going to replace the wornout body bushings anyway ). You don't have to raise it that much, just look it up online.

You can also look into changing you Ring & Pinion gears in the axles to compensate for the larger tires. You wont notice power Loss But will have a slower top speed when you do this. A 2.5L should have 4.10's you can look at going to 4.88 or even 5.13's It will give you pleanty of grunt for off road and hill climbing but don't expect to get over 90mph.
