Tire/Wheel size for '96

Hi All,

I'm sure you've seen this a thousand times, but a quick search of the past threads didn't produce any results for me.

We have a 1996 with 6.5" alloy wheels. We need new tires and want to get something a little wider for improved on-road handling. What is the widest tire that will correctly fit on this wheel without bulging out: 225 or 235? And I expect to go down from 70 to 65 or 60 to roughly mimic the stock height.
