What is the procedure for removing the power window motor ,(left side front), for a 97 GrandAm 4-door ? Does the window track have to come out ? Is there a set position to placing the motor on the mounting bracket with the ratchet gear?
Thanks for any and all help. I have 2 of these to replace on my car, both on the left side. |

I had to have the window lift motor on my '96 2-door GA GT replaced. I started to do it myself, but found there is a huge rivet gun and special rivets required to install the motor. You have to take out the track and motor as one unit. I got my door panel off and drilled out one rivet before I took the car to a shop. The rivets are very strong and somewhat difficult to drill out.

Re: 97 GrandAm Power Window motor
Thanks. I did drill out the rivets, removed the track as an assembly. The replacement motor came with small bolts & nuts. After 3 hours all is done.
