Transmission Failure 47,000 Miles

My transmission went out and nobdy can give me an answer why. I have low miles on my 99 accord and perfect maintenance. There is a recall on thw 2000-01modelswhy not 98-99 if they are having the same problems. Has this happened to anyone else.

Re: Transmission Failure 47,000 Miles

Automatic or manual?

***edit*** Anyways, my friend had an automatic. And he downshifts the auto (a lot) on the freeway. I think thats what caused his transmission failure.

Re: Transmission Failure 47,000 Miles

transmission failure on 6gen av6 is common problem. and Honda bastardized people with 98/99 model years by extanding warranty only for 00/01 model years. but they sometime pay for transmission parts for people with 98/99 av6, parts are major chunk of money in transmission repair.

i suggest to go dealer and have them to evaluate transmission, then you need to call to Honda's customer support and tell what is wrong with your transmission and ask for their help.

I have an automatic transmission. I ahve been trying to get everyone who has experience a failure to contact www.nhtsa.com to file a complaint and try and get a recall started.
