GM needs to get it straight!!!

Can you belive the total load of crap gm has been feeding us lately. For starters look at the banana on wheels the ssr does any like that thing? i recently wrote a letter to chevy asking them why the discontinued camaros the said they did it because of a dead market. Well wat the hell if theres no market for camaros who gonna buy a wimpy 5.4 ugly ass ssr. On my second note they discontinued the firebirds because sales were down. Well if firebirds aint sellin then niether will the boring old gto for a higher price. And this is old news but it really gets to me, THE HEAD LIGHTS ON POST 2000 chevy trucks they creep me out it looks like its smiling at you. Oh and lets look at the colorado pretty good looking truck but what did they do the put an inline 5 in it, way to screw up a good thing. GET IT TOGETHER GM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Re: GM needs to get it straight!!!

actually, ive worked on and driven the new SSR, its hot shit, the interior is amazing by chevy standards, the fit and finish of the car is leaps and bounds above anything else in the lineup, save the opel/malibu and the new colorado. it comes with a torsen rear end with 3.73 gears, and a 300hp 5.3L V8. its actually a very very nice vehicle, and will shit and git in a heartbeat. im sorry you dont like how it looks, i kinda do actually, and i applaud chevy for breaking out and doing something different. rather than following the trends. i think that was the main reason it was built, to show that chevy can do something cool if it wants to, know what i want to know is, when are they going to WANT to make the whole product line kick ass again????

oh and do not confuse the GTO with the old F-bodies, they are completely different machines, kinda like saying the vette, F-body, and trucks are the same, cuz they have the LS1 based engines, four wheels, and transmissions. the GTO is a holden monaro with a new nose, not a revamped F-body.

Re: GM needs to get it straight!!!

I dont know why but the ssr reminds me of plymouths prowler , it seems like it has a very small market but is pretty cool nonetheless. I still want my damn camaro back . I think the gto is a good idea tho. They need camaros and firebird to add to the ls1 lineup man !!!

Re: GM needs to get it straight!!!

i have driven the ssr at the dealership i work at, and i jus think between that and the gto gm is making up for what they took away, even tho the vette is still around; they have made these other cars/panzy truck wanna be's w/v'8s and it bothers me becuase it seems like a corney way to phase out the f-body......they may aswell ditch the vette the got the insane z06

Re: GM needs to get it straight!!!

im not against the gto at all im just disapointed in the looks and what im sayin is if gm ever wants to reagain the empire it once had it needs to apeal to the average joe with a heavy right foot not the snoody uper class ssr tyrpe people. i think the ssr ir an atempt to grab the pt cruiser slash used to be prower market. it looks like a cross between the two

I WANT MY TURBO V-6 BACK!!!!!!!!!! Just kiddin. Anyway Thank corprate GM for all of this. All business thinks about now is how to bring in money and How to save it..... Accually makes me applaud ford for standing behind it's performance program. Yes GM still has the vette but honestly.... Thats alot of money.

Re: GM needs to get it straight!!!

the GTO and the F-bodies were designed for two different segments, the GTO is a 2+2 seatign arrangement whereas the F-bodies had no back seat to speak of. GM isn't doing too bad if you think about it...there might be alot of rebadging going on but they're trying to cut down on that by eliminating olds, which was stealing sales from buick....I personally think that GMC should be eliminated too ebcause if you look at total sales of GMC and chevy trucks combined it's more than the ford F-150... they could also get rid of saturn (what a waste of time) and spend more time designing or refreshing the SUVs...plus spend more money developing an economical sportscar...oh wait...already did that...it's called the kappa platform ^_^

Huh?

Personally, i think they should keep GMC, simply because they make the make the most beautiful trucks (Seirra and Yukon XL)

Oh yeah, their is hope for saturn, with the Redline ION, which doesnt look too bad with its large 17 chromies. Unfortunatly its supercharged. No, thats not bad. But it only makes 200hp.

Re: GM needs to get it straight!!!

Yeah, I'm sure my camaro has a back seat too...good thing cuz my daughter wouldn't look good straped to the hood. And about the GTO...man leave the goat alone. Even if it's a rear whell drive grand prix with bad ass writen all over it..cuz well it is a bad ass. All we can do is hope and pray that the camaro comes back to us better and bolder than ever. And if GM brings it back like the did the malibu or the impala then we'll all jump in our f-bodies and take a trip to the corpate building and honk our horns. I'm sure we'd get there attention, well we'd have to burn one at there door steps.
