Question Paint job

I was curious to know how much it would cost to repaint my car (03 tibby) a different color because i got an SC-2 kit from SR installed and the a-holes didnt paint the kit right. Plus, the paint is chipped and scratched all over the place and I was thinking the kit would look better in red and black instead of just all carbon blue. I asked a guy this question and he said like 2g's and that just seemed outrageous to me.

it can range from 250 to 4000 dollars. how good of a paint job do you want. take it to maaco for that ambassador paint job thing if you just want to change the color with a mediocre paint job.

Well how would you say the factory paint job is ? would you call it mediocre cuz it seems pretty shitty to me. Anyway I would want just a decent PJ nothing special with color changing paint or anything. I was thinking about changing the color but how much would a factory repaint of the same color cost ? again I asked this question to a guy at hyundai and he told me 2k to 3k but that just didnt seem right to me. So what im asking is how much would a good paint job cost, nothing great, but not noticeably 'mediocre'?

$2-3k for a paint job to change the entire color of the car is about right. If you look at it, you have to paint not only the outside, but have to pull some of the interior out to paint the door jams, and some engine compartments are painted the same as the outside of the car, so then you are looking at extra work there too. There is a lot of work in completely repainting a car, not as easy as you think.

Re: Paint job

No one realizes how much work an entire color change is. You are looking a 3-4K depending on color, how many coats, enamel, base coat/clear coat, etc. The outside is no big deal, but it the jams that get expensive. Do not waste your money on a shit paint job, or you will pay for it again later.

Damn didnt realize about that how much work goes into it. Listen, the reason i didnt go back and get it repainted is because i got the got installed right before i left for college. like i mean the day after, i had to rush the jerkoffs doing it so thats probly why it came out so crappy. I just moved back cuz i changed my major and they didnt have the specialized classes i was looking for. ANYWAY i havent had time cuz i had to get a job but its something i have already talked to them about. But i was curious about the repaint because i always liked the red/black scheme and i think i would look good on a sc-2 kit. And look again Nisco on NT cuz i did post about it there too.

Oh yeah and its not like its horrible shitty. the paint on the kit is a slightly darker shade of blue and metallic paints ive heard are hard to match. And most of the chipping is on the front bumper. Some of my friends say it looks good that way but to me it looks like shit hence the question to change color or just repaint.

Re: Paint job

Well if it looks shitty to you then change it. I think it's really up to you whether or not you want to repaint or not. I do have to agree with Nisco that I would hold the show responsable if they were the ones who fucked it up.
