where to get?
anybody know where i can get a sideview mirror or the assembly and the mirror. i went to my local dealership, and they said that two manufacturers made the mirror, and one has a curved blah blah blah.. anyways the point is that they didnt have my glass. they wanted like 108 dollars for the assemblyand id just as soon drive with a cracked mirror than pay 108 when i only need the glass

Have you tried the glass shops in your area? If I'm remembering correctly, the last one I replaced only cost me around $20, way back in 87, your mileage may vary. Also check out your local wrecking/salvage yards. I'll be going into my local yard tomorrow, and I'll inquire. For an 89 I don't think it'll cost ya more then $40, and that's the whole thing.

Not sure what year your truck is, but I had to replace the same assembly on my 94 Silverado and I found several at Pep Boys and Autozone. Dragon was on the right track also. A Glass shop will cut a piece for ya and you just have to glue it in.

Yes, Pep boys, etc, sells stick-on replacement glass. Try there.
