I just bought an '84 325e with a whole host of issues to work out. I bought the service manual for it, but there is a light on the dash with no label and no mention in the book (that I have found). It's an orange triangle with a "!" in the middle. Between the speedo and tach above the service warning lights.
What is it and what is it trying to tell me? Thanks |

Hmm, I've read about that light somewhere but I can't remember what it means. I have an '85 325e with a check-control system above the rearview mirror. If something goes wrong, there is an orange blinking light on the dash between the speedo and tach. That tells you to look up at the check control and find out what the problem is. But the dash light on my car is rectangular and it reads "CHECK," so it's not the same as yours. If your car happens to have a check-panel though, you could see if their related. Sorry I can't help very much.

That makes sense!
Ok, my heater core is leaking and when I top off the fluid, the dash warning goes out and so does the coolent light up top. As the water steam out, the light up top goes on, then the orange warning light blinks. Yeah, now it all makes sense.
My new heater core will be here this weekend too. Thanks for the help. |
