I just bought an s70 T-5

I know there isn't much action in the forum, but I just purchased one of my favorite cars. 98 s70 T-5. It's a red, 5-speed. 58K miles and I got it for $8400. I think that's incredibly cheap. If you own one of these cars, how much did you pay? I'm curious to see how much of a deal I got. I payed a lot less than Kelly Blue Book. About $3000 less. I'm just excited about my new car. I can't wait for the autocross season to start.

Incredible price.

I bought a T5 in 1998 when they came out - I paid $39,600 out the door. Since then, I've put on an IPD exhaust kit, IPD sport springs, sway bar and Bilstein gas shocks. I've also got the IPD strut brace. My wife drives it now since I received a Chevy Tahoe as my company car. I still want to swap the ECM and adjust the wastegate. Many T5 owners say that with the ECM, exhaust and wastegate adjustment, they're getting 315-330 hp.

You got a great deal.

JM

My first mod will be a shock/spring combo. Probably Bilstiens with H&R springs. My brother has a T-5. He payed about $10500 last year, i think. He got a great deal too.

Re: I just bought an s70 T-5

You should post it on Volvospeed.com in their for sale section, you might have some good luck there. Good luck with the sale.

Re: I just bought an s70 T-5

$3000 is a great deal for a glt turbo. But we're talking about the T5 model which has a high-pressure turbo, the 16T. You car runs the low pressure turbo, the 13g. The T5 has 46 more horsepower and stonger internals. T5's are also much more rare, especially if you're looking for a manual transmission. I'm not ragin' on your car, but your comparing apples to similar apples with more horsepower.
