wastegate and BOV

Is there any reason to replace the factory wastegaste just out of curiousity?
Also by replacing the IC pipes and BOV can i still do the (cut dump tube mod) and still vent back into the intake? And does this mod help any? with out messing with the MAS

Re: wastegate and BOV

One would typically upgrade the wastegate when the one being used no longer flows enough to control boost, or the turbo being purchased requires a different type of wastegate (internal vs external, HKS flange or Tial flange, etc)

Yes, you should still do the dumb tube cut regardless of what you do with the IC pipes and BOV. It is a good mod for anyone running the stock intake pipe.

Re: wastegate and BOV

Injen makes a really nice looking one. Also the k$N fipk is nice, but thats just a filter and adapter, still uses the "ugly black one"'s pipe.

Re: wastegate and BOV

I have an ugly home made 3" black pipe. 20 bucks though, and flows as well as a 150 dollar bling blang shiny pipe. See my website for instructions if anyone is interested. Dejon tool also makes some nice inlet pipes, with or without BOV dump provisions.
