So just how POPULAR are these?

How often have you seen Kouki 180sx Tail-lights on any car in real life? (excluding events/shows like DD, D1GP, HIN, Import Showoff, etc.)

How often have you seen Sil-80 conversions in real life? (180sx/240sx with S13/S14/S15)

Try not to include the same car more than once, and name your location. Magazines not included :P

I've seen a Sil-80 (S13 Front) with Kouki tails ONCE when I was driving around Pasadena.

Iketani: This forum is up for people to post and get opinions. I was posting mine. If you go and close every thread because it is "stupid" or "useless" to you, then this forum would only be a reflection of you're ideas. With all respect, you do know your shit, but everybody can always learn something new. Even the old threads that you closed for just being "old" can be helpful since nobody really answered their questions.

Re: So just how POPULAR are these?

I saw one guy who brought his S13 with TypeX tails to the races, but most people don't build 240's as drag cars. I have seen about two or three more of that same setup around Long Beach, Manhattan Beach, and Carson.

You shouldn't worry about this thread, it's a legitimate topic. Alot of people probably have an opinion on this, or so I would think. I know you don't want your stuff to be closed or criticized, but the best way for that to happen probly isn't by addressing him like that. Especially with the closed threads thing, he does his job that way he does it because it works, and I believe that he exercizes good judgement.

mrflip - i'd like you to know this forum in no way reflects the ideas of me. my personal stuff is put behind the well-being of this forum when i make my moderatorial decisions. in NO WAY to my decisions reflect my personal feelings.

i closed that thread because it was turning into a flame fest.

it WAS useless actually. when i get money to modify my car, i won't give 2 shits about what anyone on this forum wants me to do to it. i'm going to go out and build it to how I want it. so therefore, i'm not going to be creating a thread like that one. why, if it's his money, his car, and his decision, is he coming onto a web forum and asking people halfway across the continent what THEY think he should do?!? he shouldn't care. he should do whatever makes him happy.

i didn't close that thread because of what your opinion said. i closed it because he'd seemed to have already made a decision, it was getting way off topic, and all i could see it turning into was a flame war, so i closed it before that could happen.

please do not tell me how to do my job. i was hired here for a reason.

this thread will stay open but will stay ON TOPIC PLEASE! offending off-topic posts will be deleted.

ON TOPIC: i know 3 people with Kouki lights on their cars, and have seen a few more in Ontario.

i know of at least 3 people in Ontario with S13 front ends as well, and at least 5 more who will be getting them through a group buy that just happened.

if this thread was created for the simple purpose of proving me wrong, then please grow the fuck up. even if you do prove me wrong, it won't change my stand-point on things.

I've probably seen about two or three dozen unique 240sx's with the 180sx tailights. Most of which around my area (Vancouver, BC and Seattle, WA). Although I saw a couple sets at the '02 240sx Convention as well.

I assume you mean 240sx hatch, with Silvia front end.... Probably seen about two or three dozen of those as well... people who do the sil80 swap tend not to forget about the 180 tails as well so they kinda go hand in hand.

My sightings are slightly biased, though because they're all my friends car as I run a nissan club here in the pacific northwest so I get to see lots of different members' rides. both in person at meets, or in the import shows.

Re: So just how POPULAR are these?

in my whole life i have only seen 1 late model S14, 4 coupes, 2 verts, a dozen or so hatches and only one with the jap tailites and it was skyblue. I live on long island and these cars are pretty rare. I dont think i'll ever see a sil80 other then the p.o.s i had. I never realy see any nissans other then maximas, altimas, or sentras and now a shit load of 350Z's. i think the only nissan i havt driven is like a pulsar.

Ouch... yeah I think most 240sx's that I see would be Red S13 Hatchbacks, followed by S13 coupes/convertables. Long Island eh? I'm surprised they have ANY 240sx's in that area.
