Angry Problem with a 68 cuda...

I'm in the process of trying to sell my 68 cuda, and really, the only reason I'm selling it is because the carb crapped out on me a few months ago. Here's what happened...

The fuel tank has rust in it (not a thru and thru hole, mainly surface) it was sending it up the fuel line and plugging my fuel filter every few weeks. All of a sudden, the carb started shooting gas out from the washer that sits over the plunger hole. The only thing I can figure, is that the jets in the carb, (2brrl) got clogged with the rust. How would I go about cleaning it out, or just fixing the problem completely?

Its more likely that rust has clogged the accelerator pump passages or blown the seal on the accelerator pump itself.
Those carbs are easy to rebuild. Either do it yourself with a kit or get a shop to rebuild it for you.
A 4 bbl and intake are a bigger job, but not too much. You did not say what engine the car has. If its a 273 - 318, 4bbl intakes and carbs are as common as fleas on a dog, in wrecking yards, or a new one, which is more money, but less headaches.
If you have a six, just rebuild the carb.
Whatever you do, the tank has to be replaced or boiled out and coated.
