NEW FL PRELUDE MEET, read inside for juicy details

Hello everyone.

With the last florida prelude meet over but still fresh in our mind, we have decided to start the planning for the next meet. Unlike the winter orlando meet where things were slightly chaotic the next will be far from chaos with your help. First off let me say that i know we all think it was nobody in particulars fault, and it wasnt. It was just something about that day that didnt wanna click. Some people expressed that they felt left out and that things were sort of clicky, well let me address that. GC felt that if he had been there earlier it wouldn't be like that, but, unfortunatly some people are shy and just need time to get the balls (or ovaries) to talk to others. Thats the way life goes and my best advice to you is to stick with it. From what i have seen this is an awesome bunch of people who have lots to offer and are all very nice people with a common interest.



Well now to the nitty gritty.....

What we are asking of you:

It has been through my experience of organizing meets up north (Pittsburgh) and volunteering for political campaigns that most people really can't become spirited about something unless they play an active roll in it. The more a person helps with something the more they value what they are contributing to and the more they wish for its success. So... me (Rick) and elle (99PreludeGirLay) started brainstorming on ideas for the next meet. We thought and decided that what better way to organize the next meet then to get YOU, the person who will be attending's feedback in a voting system and hold a meet election. so now instead of there being a leader and followers there will only be leaders and; thats you. Over the course of the next few weeks we will be placing a series of polls in all of the web forums asking YOU to decide what happens at the next meet. Also, we will be collecting e-mail addresses to mail out individual people so that everyone may have the chance to vote. It truely is up to you as an individual to help decide what will happen. Every vote counts and may be the deciding vote on what happens or doesnt. So please dont think your opinion will not matter because it will. Now, granted like in all elections your choice may not win, please don't feel down about that because everyone is going to try and accomodate others as much as they can. There will be a broad list of choices that should appeal to most everyone.

The series of polls and emails will take form as the following:

1) We will post poll's and send out emails asking luders and any other participant which location and month they would like to see the next meet happen. The list will not contain individual days, but your feedback in posting and returning e-mails will help decide that as well as facility availability at whatever location is available. A spring meet is tricky to schedule because of people's springs breaks but i assure we will try to accomodate you as best as possible. These polls will be alive for two weeks, after that we will tally the results and list the location and month.

2) After we research the location (3-4 days) that is chosen, we will post a new poll with dining choices. We are going to try and post only facilities that serve a wide array of items so that everyone will have the ability to get something they like. Having choices like "wu-tangs cantonese buffet" will only alienate some people into not eating if they dont like cantonese and cause them to have an unpleasent time. This poll will stay open for one week. We will then attempt to make reservations based upon feedback from others in the location/month poll. Remember, if you do not give feedback you cant alter what happens. After reservations can be confirmed we will post the results. If reservations cannot be made at the winner of the poll we will choose the 1st runner up and then the second if need be.

3) After the dining poll results have been posted, we will post another poll with choices for activities. The results will be tallied but this is going to be tricky because we dont know how long each one would take individually. We will try to have more then one activity but not rush people at the same time. The top activities will be contacted for reservation or prior warning and the results will be posted.

4) Finally, we will post all of the info collected and provide all of the info needed to get you there safe and sound and provide a period of time after all the decisions have been voted on for people to request off or make arrangements so that they can attend. Even though i do not, most people work 2 week schedules so the waiting period will most likely be 3-4 weeks. All in all, the next meet should take place within 8-9 weeks if everything goes somehwhat smoothly. I will be making a packet with driving directions, and scheduling and will email or snail mail them to whoever requests one. This will be on top of the already weekly updated bulletins that we will be posting and sending out. I think elle should do that because she did a damn good job last time, but i'll help her!!!

Sidebar:

1.) It has also been suggested that we have name tags this time. we will provide them. If you wish to wear one cool, if not cool. Its entirely up to you and you wont be frowned upon for not. Or if you just want one to write something corny on like "teh pr3lud3 n3v3r l00ses" so be it.

2.) We will also be making flyers to be distributed in a grass roots fashion. Look for ludes around you and slip it under thier winshield washer or hand it to them personally if you wish.

3.) HOT CHICS, we need them, they are the lifeblood of the make species who will be the majority of this meet. Find as many as you can and do whatever it takes to get them there.

4.) I personally will be taking a lot of time and money to organize what you all have voted on as will some others. Myself and the others shelling out the time and money ask for nothing in return from any of you but a fair voting system and your best effort to play nice and have the best time you can possibly have, thats it. I personally have never been much concerned with what i feel as opposed to what others feel and always try to make other people feel more comfortable over myself. I hope that from that stance and this way of doing it that it all works out.

btw... anybody can attend that wants to. and we will not be hosting the poll on this board. it will be on preludeonline.com absoluteprelude.com and a website that is being built as we speak on saturday.


please only vote if your seriously going to go and vote only once as it will effect the time that people have at this thing and sabotaging it ist cool at all.
