New Motor?

Hey, i'm new in here. I have a 1998 cavalier z24 with almost 100,000 miles on it. I'm pretty sure my engine is shot, itz sputtering, backfiring, killing, and all the other fun things that happen when you mess somethin up good. I'm planning on putting a new/different motor in if the repairs will cost me over $1,000, but I have NO idea where to even start with motors and engines. I'm looking for something that will add horsepower for street racing. If anybody has any helpful suggestions, it would be so greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Re: New Motor?

well its sounds like its your coil pack. there on ebay for like 50 bucks tops. and its easy to intall. but if you want a new motor get another LD9 and drop all kinds of forget parts in it then go to www.exploitedracing.com and slap a turbo kit on it, or even make a homemade kit yourself.

Re: New Motor?

Hey, thanks for the help. Luckily, it is not the motor and it is the fuel injectors. Now I need to find another excuse to buy my new motor :P Thanks anyway though

Re: New Motor?

*laughs* Yeah I think 125 shot would blow it after about 5 seconds...
