Unhappy Any way to change Keyless Entry Operation

I don't like having to press the unlock button on the Keyless Entry twice to get all of the doors to unlock on my 2002 Xterra.

Is there any way to get the system to unlock all of the doors on the first button press?

Scratches head. Assuming you own an Xterra, and could walk outside and give it a shot, shouldn't this question be self answering? I know this comes across as being an ass, but sometimes I wonder if I'm missing something when I read things like this.

BTW, the answer is, yes it does. It's covered in the manual as well.

Cheers!

Re: Any way to change Keyless Entry Operation

While we're talking about keyless remotes, I'd like to change the behavior of the 'panic button' and use it for something more useful, like remotely starting up the computer that I've just installed in my dash. Where is the keyless entry control module? Can I intercept a wire corresponding to pushing the panic button?

BTW, pushing and holding the unlock button doesn't work to unlock the other doors on my 2001

Re: Any way to change Keyless Entry Operation

None of the manuals I checked, 2000, 2002, or 2003, document the feature actually. Not sure if/when the actual functionality was dropped, I know my 2000 unlocks all doors if I hold the unlock button down.

Re: Re: Any way to change Keyless Entry Operation

From page 3-5 of the 2000 and 2003 Xterra Owners Manual:

"1. Push the unlock button on the multiremote controller. Only the drivers side door unlocks. 2. Push the unlock button on the multiremote controller again within five seconds. All doors unlock."

And Boravr4, maybe if you were clearer like in your second message, people would be able to give you the information you're looking for. I get tired of indignant people like yourself that throw around insults when you don't even know what you're talking about, or are so vague that nobody knows the intentions of your posts.

Pushing it a SECOND TIME, yes. Holding the first press down instead, NOT DOCUMENTED.

WE ARE TRYING TO MAKE OUR DOORS UNLOCK (ALL 4 DOORS) WITH ONLY 'ONE' PUSH OF THE UNLOCK REMOTE TRANSMITTER BUTTON. NOW IF YOU CAN NOT KEEP UP WITH CONVERSATION THEN DONT TYPE!

OK, it appears that the undocumented trick only works on the 2000 models. So the answer to the original post is no, there is no way to do what you wish.

Boravr4, you don't know how you use the quote feature here do you? You know that just makes your post less clear!

Don't be a dick.

Thank You, Schlud!

I had not noticed that, in one year of ownership! And it is on page 3-5 of the 2002 Owners Manual (Can spec).

I've been opening the pass door from the Drivers side Master Switch...My lady-friend only let me walk back around to open the door for her once...I felt so stupid...
