Does anyone know where I can get air bags for 1/18 1/24 scale models, or how to make them.

If you have in mind to build a crash diorama, remember that airbags remain opened for just few seconds; the best reality will be obtained using a modified piece of a teflon tape that fall down from the st.wheel. |

Re: Airbags????
Maybe he means Air bags suspension. I remember someone posted a thread about an air bag suspension. Use the search; I'm sure you'll find it.

Are you talking airbags as in suspension? If so you can make then with o-rings and some tube. then use some sheet stock for endcaps.. As far as i know no one has come up with working ones yet.. If ya dont fell like making them a few people sell them. People that come to mind are Rob aka Mysteryman on LIL and Ryan Aka 1ofakind on here and LiL(WWW.layitlow.com) Yoou might want to check out that site for more info on how to make them and lots of pics of them.. Simulating Airbags
After wracking my brain, searching every arts & crafts store within 50 miles, and doing searches on the 'net, I might have figured out a way to pull it off.
I found some wooden beads at a local a&c store, but they're too big (even after sanding). Then, I was just out in the garage taking a break (from the S-10 mini-truck I'm working on) & happened to look at my workbench. I saw my plastic bins (with screws, nuts, bolts, etc..) and it hit me - screw heads! They come in all kinds of different diameters, thicknesses, etc... My plan is to cut the heads off some screws, glue them together (not sure what I'm gonna use for that yet), paint 'em black & install them on the suspension of the S-10... We'll see how it works & I'll let you all know. If it works, and enough people are interested I'll do a How-To about it... |

I read that thread, but there wasn't any details - and I kinda got the jist that they were looking for 'working' airbags. Honestly, I haven't looked at our local hardware store (we don't have Home Depot here), but that's a good idea.
I'll still try the screw head idea - just to see how it turns out... And next time I'm at the hardware store I'll definitely be lookin' for some o-rings |
