89 mustang gt or vr-4

My friend has an 89 mustang gt. I have a vr-4 now. He wants to race. He has a 5.0 3.73 gears and some kind of underdrive pulleys. Do you think that my stock 91 vr-4 could beat his mustang???

stock for stock you will distroy him

an underdrive pully wont make too much of a difference, but there may be things he isnt telling you.

same hp same tq and same weight one is awd and one is rwd, which one wins.
well the tt supra and the vr4 is a perfect example exept that the vr4 weighs more and they still run pretty much identical times 13.5
so take of 300lbs off the vr4 and vr4 wins.
rwd beats awd of highway rolls. or maybe in 1/2 mile but not necciserily in the 1/4. grammer

it all depends on how good u drive the VR4.

yeah like every1 said, the underdrive pulley wont do that much, (if thats all he's got) car vs. car, you'll take him in the 1/4.

The only difference RWD and AWD makes in 1/4 is weight. It's a known fact that if you shave off a few pounds off your car, you will take off a bit off your quarter mile time.

Frankly, AWD sends more power to the wheels, and thus you'll get a much better launch.

On a roll, it's whoever has more hp and less weight that wins the race.

As long as you know how to drive your car, you should be able to take him in the quarter.
