Ok well it sounds like the shop you have your car at has no idea what they are talking about. If they said one cylinder leaks, so what.

Did they tell you y? I could leak for a multitude of reasons. Valve stuck open, valve is burnt, bad rings, ect. Or it could be a crack in the block. But that is less likley. Get them to tell you why you need a new engine not that you just need a new one.

You can put a 1G motor in your car. Many people have done it. You will pass emissions if the engine is tuned and running properly.

Y do you want a JDM motor? What is the purpose of spending all that extra money?

If you do this all right and find the stuff you need at a resonable price i imagine that you could do it all within 3000.

Good luck

Does the engine still run? Find out what the actual problem is. It is very very very typical of a "shop" to give such a ridiculously vague reason, and make a fortune on a simple head swap Make them do the compression check and leak down test in front of you, and explain the numbers to you, etc. Then let us know what they were.

Re: Need new Motor, Help! (dsm newb)

Also, this is what happens when i drive, i can drive my car, but when i push it to hard, it chokes! so i can't really use the turbo to its full potential, it would stall, and i would have to release the gas, or quickly shift gears...

JDM Motor

If you want to get your GSX running just look at the Mitsubishi JDM 4G63 Its priced about 1,399 with shipping it comes out short of 2,000 gramd which is a bargin and passes emmissions with flying colors just make sure you're prepared to have an engine swap. And the engine internals come forged so you can not worry about your engine blowing to smiterings if you turn the boost too high but just don't do it.
Look for the mitsubishi motors here....http://www.totaljdm.com/?id=40320

hey man sorry to sound like a dick but your first 8 posts about that site and/or price of the motor/selling a motor and thats called SPAMMING!!! if you dont know what that means or the rules on it go to the thread at the top of the forum titled "RULES AND REGULATIONS" unless you would like to get suspended or banned (i'm not gunna ban you for it right now, but if it keeps happening i will or if someone else sees it they could ban you for it right now... so just relax about the JDM 4G63 motors!)

as for the dude with the car... dont drive it, you are only making it worse whatever it is! hows all your fluids, any anti-freeze in the oil or vise versa? are all of your fluids at the same level they were before, like are you leaking any fluids? and lastly how was the temp gauge when you were driving it like this? hot/cold, normal? let us know!
