Need Help Right Away!!!!!!

I have a 1993 nissan sentra e-model and yesterday when I went to drive it, it would not shift out of first. It is an automatic transmittion so I dont know what to do, the car runs great and everything else is working fine just it wont go past 40 miles per hour. Please if anyone could help me to figure out what is wrong I would greatly appericated it!!

your tranny is fucked up! you need a new one!

take it to a tranny shop and have 'em look at it. automatic transmissions are complex and it's hard to diagnose a problem without tearing it down and looking at it.
