1997 F150 Slight shutter /Transmission?
I am new to trucks and my truck has a slight shutter once in awhile wanted to know if that is common on trucks or if there are tranny problems common with the 4.6

Re: 1997 F150 Slight shutter /Transmission?
I have a 98 F150 and have had no tranny problems but I did find out the hard way that I was leaking coolant into the Intake Manifold and just blew and enging on what is still a truck that has no dents or anything else wrong.. Watch out for excessive exhaust steam, radiator overflow low, Hard starts or ruff Idol upon start up.. because next comes the Piston or Rod Ramming you in the wallet It is a 4.6 alright... $4,600 to get it repaired!!!!

Converter shudder is common if the ATF has been overheated. Use ONLY Mercon V ATF, and change it every 25,000-30,000 miles and you'll never have it again.

I have a 97 4.6l and I had that shutter. It was a bad sparkplug wire.
