2000 tacoma Supercharger blew out my cats at 85k!!!!

Hi,

I put a supercharger on my 2000 Tacoma 3.4 V6 at 25k. Dealer installed
with no other injector kits etc. Basically I was told this was all I needed.
Now I am at 85k and my engine light came on. Toyota told me my whole exhaust crystalyzed and both cats blown. Now a $4k job !!!. So I took it to Meineke. They replaced both cats for $1k. Now 2 weeks later my engine light comes on again and exhaust leak. Turns out the o2 sensor broke which turned my new cats to dust and voided my warranty. Meineke say's that after they replace the cats again and new o2 sensor they may not be able to warranty it because of the supercharger.

I have always taken my ride to the dealer until they tried to rape me with the cost of whole exhaust system. My question is has anybody else had a similar experience? Also, shouldn't Toyota recomend a MUCH BETTER EXHAUST SYSTEM before selling a supercharger? Obviously the stock exhaust can't handle the heat !!!!!!!!!

So I am enraged with Toyata right now because I bought this Tacoma for reliablilty and now I am worried about the engine at 85k ??

Any thoughts or advice would be greatly appreciated !

thanks in advance....

you are paying way to much. you can replace every thing for under 1k. you cad buy direct fit cats for about $150 at www.summitracing.com or call 1-800-230-3030 , headers for about $350, and mufflers range from about $50-$80. get it all together yourself and if you cant weld it, mark it and you can find a shop to weld it together for about $50. i found that pacesetter headers to be cheap and work well. mufflers are for you to judge, they all sound different but any will work. make sure you get everything with the same inlet /outlet size 1.5,2.0,2.5 etc. your o2s most likely are dealer only, but with all this replaced you should be good to go.
