Well,
I am new here. I have completed a search for information I am looking for in my dilema. My car is unique in that it is a 1998 Dodge Neon R/T. What makes this car unique is the sleeper look, with 148 whp and 128 flb's of torque @ the wheels; up from a measley 116 whp and 110 flb's of torque. The engine consists of my original head with modifications and a 2000 JR-Stratus/Breeze bottom stock end. This 2000 JR-Stratus/Breeze bottom end came from an original engine, never been fired, 2.0L Dohc. The reason this is odd is the fact that the Stratus/Breeze never came with 2.0L Dohc's. Only 2.0L Sohc and 2.4L DOHC, as well as the 2.5L v6. How I know this engine is a 2000 Stratus/Breeze is the tag from the main computer wire to the PCM, and it read this: 2000 JR-Stratus/Breeze 2.0L DOHC. ALong with vin coding. It gets interesting now. The timing belt tensioner is shot. I am looking for a replacment. Anything outside of a dealership, or a Modified one to handle more strength with no bearing seize and can handle .030's off the head would be great. I know for a fact, the head (now sold) directly bolted up to 2.0L bottom end. The oil jurniles line up and with no modifications. So it seems apparant that they are interchangable. Any help would be appreciated. -Nate |
