wheel nuts for alloy wheels

is it possible to use the wheel nuts on my steel wheels for peugeot alloys. I have a N reg Peugeot 306 1.6 XR with 14" wheels. I have 14" alloy wheels i would like to put the car

You would need to check with the wheel maker to see what hardware will work safely. Either that or take one of the wheels and the nuts down to a local shop where they can test fit them together on the car. Most alloy wheels will use nuts that have a different seat and length than those used on steel wheels. They may or may not work. The only way is to check how much thread is in contact with the nuts and that the nuts seat on the wheel correctly.
