strange power loss

As i was comming out of work yesterday, car started right up. but when i went down the road and put it in second, the car woulndt go over 4.5k rpm. its never had problems before, and its kinda strange. what do u think it could be? the computer is good, i changed it a year ago, because the original was chipped. new air filter too. and new clutch (about 8 months new)

Did it have power up to 4500, like you were hitting a rev limiter?

Yea sounds like limp mode, but need more info do know for sure, does it do like JDMDB7 said?

I always let me car warm up before I even push it slightly. Im not sure what the temp. safety redline is though.

it could be limp mode,but the check engine light isnt on. my redline is 7k rpm. what boggles me, is how it just poped up from one day to another. O2 sensor is new. btw, think it could be the fuel filter? maybe something jumped in and clogged the system? i have a fuel pressure guage, but its on before the filter, and it reads ok (34-38)psi
