it started when i put a new air filter on my 06 hyndai sonata i did know cuting or re wireing of any kind. took the old air filter out (which included taking the power controle as i was told off of the old air filter housing and monting it up right as it was before) i put on the new cone steel mesh air filter. the car starts up fine runs great sounds good. but when i get about two miles of driving all of my power shuts of in the car. gas, power breaks, and esc.
![]() the car still idils though, and will go as fast as it idils but know more my gas pedal just wont work and power breaks are not working either. im thinking it might be how the car is programmed but i just don't know. |

Re: strange power loss on a 06 hyundai sonata
Was the new filter oiled to provide filtration? These will often coat the air flow sensor wire and cause problems. Not usually this severe but hard to say on this particular car. Under warranty? Replace the filter with the original, and if the problem persists, take it back.

Re: strange power loss on a 06 hyundai sonata
Air filter change = power loss? Iunno about this one. You probably already have, but check again for anything that you may have jostled in your work. I'd take this one straight to the dealer for a checkup, especially if it's under warranty.
