A little audio help?

I'm cheap, not to mention poor and I need some sound. I know absolutely jack shit about car audio but I want a little bump for what my cheap ass can afford :P I showed my friends some of the stuff on ebay, of course, they have high standards and downed it all. So anyway, could someone take a look at these and let me know what they think or point me in the direction of some halfway decent ebay stuff?

if you are only looking for a little bit of bass, id go with the infinity basslink. its small, self-powered, and pretty cheap.

ok, for cheap price but good stuff, go this route. not really cheap but not alot more than you were loking at, and trust me, this 300 watt amp is probably more powerful than that 1200 watt legacy. I had a 1400 watt legacy amp and my bp300.1 was WAY more powerful. cuz for one its overrated and 2 its rated peak. brandname companies rate amps in RMS.

heres the amp, a rockford fosgate 300x1@2 ohms mono amp
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...category=18797
buy it now for 100 bucks

heres the sub, an audiobahn AW1251 12" 400 watts RMS
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...category=48613
buy it now for 40 bucks

4 guage amp wiring kit w/ RCA's
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...category=18796
buy it now for 30 bucks

get a 4x8 sheet of 3/4 particle board, a tube of beats the nail wood glue, some 1-1/2 inch drywall screws, which runs about 15 bucks, build a 1.5 cubic foot sealed box. and since the sub looks so good you could spend 10 bucks on some plexi and on the back of the box, cut a window, router a lip and set in the plexiglass. go ported if you want juts make sure you use winisd and design it right, otherwise it will not sound good.

there you got about 20 bucks in everythign before shipping and it will thump pretty good.

wire the coils in parallel and you got just about what the sub needs from the amp.

Re: A little audio help?

I have used particle board on every box ive ever built and never had a problem.

just use bracing
I had a box that was over 3 ft^3 out of this stuff and that makes for some pretty long spans and I just used utility grade 2x2 and cut a few lengths and screwed from midle of the planes into an end, and then the other end to opposing face and sctrew it in. and that bracing is less than a buck a foot. but for that small of a box I DOUBT the would be a need for it.

Thanks for the help. I think I'm gonna go with that then. A quick question though: If I was to get 2 of those subs, would that amp be able to handle both of them until I get a better one?

go with 3/4 mdf wood, thats the best if u want to make a box. if u go to any quality shop or store they will tell u to use and that they use 3/4 mdf.

Re: A little audio help?

if you got 2 of them you would either need to get A: a mono amp that can handle a 1 ohm load, or B: a stereo amp that is bridgable, becausse 4 ohms to that amp wouoldnt be much power at all, maybe it can handle 1 ohm, thats just sopmething you are gonna have to find out.

Id go with 1 sub and that amp or if you get 2, get this amp and run the subs to series parallel and bridge this amp to them. amp pos to sub1/coil1 pos, sub1/coil1 neg to sub1/coil2 pos, sub1/coil2 neg to amp neg. same deal with sub 2. and on the leads going top the amp put both positives to the bridged positive output and both negatives to the negative bridged output(will say on the front of amp most likely, otherwise in the manual) I looked for amps but bridgable stereo amps on ebay I was finding are more than the mono ones so I didnt look long. but I know this amp is 1 ohm stable, power/dollar not as good of a deal as the RF but I had this amp to a couple 12's before and it hit pretty hard.

no, you could wire 2 DVC 4ohm subs to creat a 4 ohm load on the amp.
