Noise at back of car

Hey guys,

When I turn my car on it makes a pump noise, and when it gets turned off for about 5 minutes it makes a pump noise. Is that the fuel pump or something else?

It could be the fuel pump but I never hear the fuel pump on my 97. More likely its the auto leveling rear suspension.

Leveling compressor should come on when key is turned to "run" position. Turn key off after shocks have been fully pumped up and you should hear air released after about 30 seconds.
