i dont know if there are any gains in hp between ceramic or stainless headers. i think stainless are more for show cuz there "shiny" but they give the same hp gain as ceramic. Im gonna get a set of DC sports 4-1 ceramic headers for my 97 LS teggy. i heard that the 4-1 design gives a bit more hp than the 4-2-1 design. i would go with DC headers if i were u. dont get some cheap headers cuz they might crack on u. check on ebay for em. they run about $230

Re: ceramic or stainless headers? which is better?

Ceramic headers keep the heat of the exhaust in the exhaust. Think of it as a heatshield. The more heat and energy you keep in the pipes, the better it flows. So if you are looking for performance go with ceramic. By the way 4-2-1 is better for midrange torque and HP, (daily driving) and 4-1 is more top end (drag racing) no actual difference in gains, just different RPM ranges where the power is made. BTW, why is this post in the race forum, it should be in lets get technical....newbies.....
