why are prices so different

i went to one site www.srswap.com and there prices were really high compared to this www.ardperformance.com. At SRSwap they have sr20det's for like $2000+, ARDperformance has front clips for like $2000 and motor, tranny, ecu, wiring, intercooler for $1395.

Re: why are prices so different

There are a couple reasons:

1. Established companies. Ones like srswap.com are known to be a reliable source for getting engines. Many people who order SR20's go through srswap.com so they have a lot of credibility and people that can vouch for the good service they offer. Places like ardperformance though, are less known. They may be a reputable source as far as ordering engines, but you won't find as many people who have ordered from them so you really have no way of knowing if you will be ripped off or not.

2. Another reason that srswap can charge higher prices is purely business reasons. Sadly, but true, there are people who when ordering motors will just go with the first place they find. Since srswap is widely known they will most likely be found first sometimes and then people will just pay the higher price without researching other companies first. Also, if ard performance offers lower prices, then that may influence people to buy engines from them. Once people buy these motors from them and find out that they are an honest company, then they will soon raise their prices to match other competitors so that they make more money. The lower prices they are offering now are just most likely to get their name in the game....or maybe they are just offering pure crap motors and they know it, so they are selling them for cheap.

Well, those are my reasons at least...
