My 01 ssei is starting to make a clunking noise. It seems to be either steerig or drive axle related since it will occur when turning or touching the brake at alow speed such as in a parking lot. Any ideas

Re: ssei clunking
Look at the CV joints. If they're fine, look at all other front end components. Do it soon.
Heck, go to Midas Muffler and have them diagnose the problem. |

A freind has an 01 and had the same problem. Apparently GM has a problem with the steering rack and intermediate steering shaft on this model. They replaced his under warranty. The teeth in the rack were almost stripped!
