Need Help And Advice

Is a performance exhaust header really as simple as just bolting the old one out and bolting the new one in and do I have to do anything like resetting the ECU after header installation or is that only after a CAI installation? and, what shocks will go well with Drop Zone coil overs? I was considering Koni shocks. Can someone help?

Yep, generally a header for Honda's is pretty simple to install unless the lower bolts are rusted, then you just cut them off. Use new seal between header & eaxhust - some require the O2 sensor wire to be made longer.
You should reset the ECU with any engine modification.
How do I say this nicely? Drop Zone's are not that great, but Koni Yellows would be a good choice. I'd suggest getting different springs, adjustable or standard.

Re: Need Help And Advice

um..by the way, and forgive any indication of ignorance here....but, what do you mean by new seal between the header and exhaust b/c I want to know if I'd have to be going out and buying something else before I to the switch? thankx!

Re: Re: Need Help And Advice

Seal/gasket goes between the header & exahust pipe to prevent any leaks. An exahust leak will sound terrible. Most new header's should come with the seal(s) needed.

Re: Need Help And Advice

thankx for the info jackasssi, i will keep that in mind when i do the install. i just found out about Koni Yellows for my civic and got a good deal on them from a shop in Arizona, for $500 including shipping costs for a complete set of four, but the front pair are inserts. I'll shop around some more but someone told me I should go with them. what do you guys think? i don't want to take any chances installing Drop Zone coils on with a stock setup. i heard the shocks might blow. is this true?

Re: Need Help And Advice

You shouldn't have a problem with blowing your factory struts as long as you don't lower the car too much; or you could just have shitty road conditions, and if that's the case then blowing struts is inevitable(spelling may be wrong).

Re: Re: Need Help And Advice

Stock shocks/struts should NOT be used with any type of lowering spring. They may not blow right away, but eventually will. Then you have to take it all apart again, put it back together, & another alignment. Ride quality will be very poor on stock struts because the struts can not control the lowering springs correctly. Remember, struts/shocks are there to keep the spring from bouncing forever & to absord the "shock" to the spring when hitting bumps or whatever the road surface may be.
