ruff start

Heres my problem. I have an 87 pontiac grandam se. when you try to start it , it takes 5-8 secs to start. when it does start you can smell gas. it always starts but really ruff. some time when it is cold out it start up like a dream. can seem to figure this out any sugestions whould be great.

Change your spark plugs if it's been a while. Air filter too...

thanx for your reply. i have changed the pluge, wires, fuel filter, air filter. this has been going on for 4 years. since i got the car.
