the rare 2.3 quad

hey guys..im kinda new here...so set me straight if i step outta line....i was just wondering a few things....first off i seem to have the rare(not like its a good thing) 2.3L quad 4 in my 95 z24 now YES the 2.4 L swap IS coming soon...however.. untill then..im trying to upgrade a few things...ive already got an intake ..fit ok after alittle hack sawing ...but in my qwest to find OTHER performace upgrades...which parts will fit...only thing i ever see listed is 2.2 and 2.4 ....i suppose the closest i will get is the 2.4...im looking for things suck as throttle body..engine mounts..pullys..ect.....
if i get these parts for a 2.4...will they even fit my 2.3...how about exhaust?? is it even the same??? or am i just screwed!!! till i swap it?? thanks in advance guys!!!!!!!! OH...and dont let anyone tell you the 2.3 sucks....it aint that bad...good paower..and im at 140k miles and NOT ONE PROBLEM runs good..sounds good....just needs to be alittle faster if ya know what i mean

just cerious, what is the 8th digit in the vin code?

There are alot of parts out there for the quad, you can take alot of the parts of the W41 and the 2.3 HO such as the intake manifold, throttle body, cams, and other things like that. also check out www.quad4forums.com or www.gmperformancetuning.com for alot more help.

what really concerns me is like the throttle body.the headers.pullys...things like that...and i was thinking about a cam...anyone know of a good one and what performace gains it might give me?????

Well For one There are Two Cams in that Engine, Or The head rather. You could upgrade to the Cams from the 2.3L H.O. engine Vin A and that would give you a pretty good change

ok... looked at work today, the only motor the Z24 came with in 95 was the 2.3L quad motor, unless it was made in mexico then it came with a 2.4L

You cant use the HO cams on a 95 or later quad. The intake cam has a pulley machined onto it for the power steering pump, which the earlier quads dont have.
