Intake needed

hey, i need to know where i can get a GT-40 style upper intake manifold for 5.0/5.8 as cheap as humanly possible. i don't care if it's just a big block of rust that LOOKS like a gt-40 upper. i have a couple junkyards i was gonna look in, but if somebody has one they're willing to part with, that's cool too. any help is greatly appreciated. thanks!

Re: Intake needed

I seriously doubt you'll find one in a junk yard. Try www.stangpart.com or even E-bay and see if they have it. What do you need a rusted out GT40 upper soo bad for anyway?

well, it's kinda complicated. blower = $3,000. but i wanna drive my car before that, get used to it. besides, money is an issue, it will take me a while to earn that. so here's the deal. i'm building the motor in anticipation of forced induciton: low compression pistons with the lower intake i need. when i can afford it, i will buy the kenne bell blower that bolts up to the GT-40 lower. conclusion, i need something to make the car run until i can afford the blower. that would be the GT-40 upper. i can just bolt everything up to it. then when i'm ready, yank it and stick my blower on.

why get a blower if money is an issue, you might ask? well, i like blowers. that alone makes it worth it =D.

and, the motor will make at least 400 horse N/A on 7:1 or 8:1 anyway, so it'll still be fast. just need a lumpy cam.

thanks for the advice, tho!

Re: Intake needed

Just pick up a used Cobra intake. It uses the same lower as the GT40 and is about half the price. You can probably find one online somewhere for a couple hundred bucks.
