Hesitation solved

I thought I'd follow up to my post of a few days ago where my 98' Tacoma (4x2, 4-cyl) was having weird hesitation problems. (See post of the same topic...)

I replaced the plugs and wires as suggested, that didn't do anything to remedy. Took it to the dealer and they fiddled with it for nearly two days.

Ended up replacing the throttle position sensor and are having me run two cans of some awful toxic fuel line cleaner called "BV-208 44K".

Seems to have fixed the problem. I noticed they replaced the PCV valve as well.

Symptoms listed in the tech notes are as follows.

"Found TPS (Throttle Position Sensor) not working properly. Found high fuel pressure and pressure readings jumping around on test drive. Found rough idle. There were no engine codes."

Anyway, hopefully someone can use this information in the future if they have a similar problem.

Quick question, How much did the dealer charge you to do the work, and replace the fuel throttle sensor.

Was the fuel filter, hadn't replace it since 70,000 miles. Replaced, and hesitation is gone.
