Car Idles Too High
I have a 1992 automatic Legend and when I first start it up, it idles around 1000 rpm. After about 10 minutes it will go down to around 700 rpms which is where it should be. This problem doesn't seem to be too serious but if anyone knows why this is happening I would like to know, the car is just wasting gas. Thanks - David

Re: Car Idles Too High
The car is just trying to warm itself up during the harsh winter
![]() You shouldn't worry about this at all this is normal 'car behavior.'

Alright, thanks. I guess I'll just have to press the brake down a little harder to keep it in place.

Re: Re: Car Idles Too High
Sounds like either your IAC motor (Idle air Control) or a bad throttle position sensor, other than that it could be a bad computer. Don't know if you've tried any of this yet, but thats where i would start
