What Motivation Do You Have For Working Out???
I wanna start workin out a bit but I feel like I have no freakin motivation for it. I can't find a good reason as to why I would need any more strenght (sp?) than I already have. Maybe I'm lazy.
For all of you people that work out and get stronger, what motivation do you have?!? |

Re: What Motivation Do You Have For Working Out???
Heaps of reasons. The endorphin rush, looking better physically, feeling fit and strong and most importantly of all being in top condition for my favourite sports (skiing).
![]() At the moment, I'm running between 1/2 hour and 45 mins every night and doing a full weight session about 5 nights out of every 7. If you have any questions you'd like to know about training, post 'em here because I work with a guy who is a pro personal trainer who can give you good answers.

Don't forget being able to intimidate others due to your physical size. Nothing is better than being able to push people around.

Re: What Motivation Do You Have For Working Out???
My motivation for working out is the paycheck that I get for doing it.The physical workload has dropped off a little since I clawed my way up the corporate ladder, but I'm still getting a good workout at least once a day,and getting paid absurdly good money while I'm doing it.

Re: What Motivation Do You Have For Working Out???
I originally started lifting because I wanted to be huge like the guys in Muscle and fitness Magazine. I was in a couple of bodybuilding contest but realized that wasn't what I was really after. It was way too superficial. I continue to workout and lift now because I need to continually improve on my lift. I set goals for myself and I need to reach them. That's what drives me when I lift. Not to mention I have a 12 year old son that I workout with now and I want to continue to share that time with him as long as possible.

The Air Force just implemented new standards for our annual physical fitness requirement. We used to have to run a mile & 1/2 in a certain amount of time. Then they changed it to where we had to ride an exercise bike for a certain amount of time without our heart-rate exceeding a specified point (based on your height, weight & age). Apparently that was too easy, so now we're going back to running, doing push-ups & sit ups.
In addition to that, every squadron now has mandatory "gym time" during the week. So my motivation is that I have no choice
