Hi, I was wondering if there is 4x2 to 4x4 conversion kit for a 84 fleetwood? Also wondering what would I need to get to be able to convert it and if it is possible and how much would parts and labor cost if done by a mechanic???

Sell it and buy a Jeep or something.
If you have to ask, you could not afford it. The existing chassis would be too weak to adapt to live axles and leaf springs from a pick up truck. The easiest way is to find a 4x4 full size pick up truck or Suburban with the same wheel base and place the Fleetwood body on top. There would be neumerous steering and trans shifter linkage problems and a new wiring harness would have to be made as well as body mounts etc. Prepare to spend $10,000 plus the cost of the donor pick up truck. Its cheaper to go on the net and buy someone elses project like this. There are a few out there. |

Re: how can i convert 4x2 to 4x4 on 84 cadi???
im just curious, why would you want or need 4 wheel drive on a cadillac fleetwood, they have posi i think which sucks, but thats the only reason i can think of, its not like someone would actually wanna take it off road or anything.

I can see why you like the 4wd idea. Not for off-roading but for road traction as there are more performance cars going that way now. Too expensive and too difficult though.
