Broken Gas Pedal
The gas pedal bracket broke off of my car. I tried flame welding it back on, but stuff started catching on fire (oops). So then I tried an epoxy called J.B. Welds. Good god that stuff works great. If they had a couple of barrels of it on the Titanic, it would'nt have sank.

That sure isn't something you hear everyday, heh. Should I even ask how it broke off?

Re: Broken Gas Pedal
mendari,
wow...unbelievable. I thought I was the only unfortunate person to have the gas pedal fall off. I have a 97 Explorer and the gas pedal just fell off. I was told by Ford if they attempt to put it back on they would have to total the vehicle since the bracket is welded onto the firewall. They told me to check and see if an auto body shop would weld it back on. The auto bodyshop bolted it back on instead. I will keep my fingers crossed. How is yours holding up? |

Re: Broken Gas Pedal
WOW-this just happened to me. Did the bolts work? How about the JB Weld? I was stranded yesterday, had my '98 Explorer towed home, and am now contemplating how to fix it. I guess I won't take it to the dealer, if they recommend totaling the car, LOL.
