knock sensor question

ok i broke my knock sensor when i dropped my motor in and i never got to replacing and i wanted to kno what happens when you dont have one like what does the motor run like shit or kinda good....because right now my motor is idleing like 1000 to 1500 RPMS up and down and it pisses me off and also when i hit vtec its really loud and the only code the ECU is throwing it the knock sensor.....so if anyone can help i would appreciate it......Thanks

Knock sensor is basically a microphone listening for "knock" & adjusting timing accordingly.

replace it, its always best to have things that work
and far as the idleing up and down goes, look for a vaccum leak!

Or your EACV valve on the idle.

without a knock sensor, your ECU will retard the timing.

how much do you think a new EACV valve would be??
and a new knock senor??

does anyone have a diagram for all the vaccum lines....where they would go for a B16??

Knock sensor is like $128 from the dealer, or ebay has them for $50ish.

Just find someone selling a eacv.
