Newbie needs book/website on car basics

I'm finally gonna buy a new car and it looks like the G35 is a winner (though the new 2005 Mustang GT looks hot), but I need some help with car basics.

I've been researching various forums and websites on car modifications, but I'd really like a book or website that clearly describes the innerworkings of a car, complete with sections on car modifications (such as exhaust, headers, intake, superchargers vs. turbochargers, etc.) Something with pictures that starts with the basics and advances to an intermediate level as I'd like to know some of the more technical aspects appropriate for customizing a car. Any help would be appreicated for this newbie! I looked at the auto repair for dummies book and it was somewhat helpful, but i'm looking for other advice/options.
