Front passenger seat door controls don't all work.

I was wondering if someone could lend a hand in finding the problem with the door controls for my passenger seat. The ones that move it up down etc work fine. Its the controls for the door lock, lumbar, etc that don't work. They are all on the same switch strip for locking the door etc. I checked to see if they were receiving any power with a light checker and they were getting none at all. I then checked most of the fuses and they all seemed to be good so I'm not sure if maybe they all have the same power source or what. Maybe possible from opening and closing the door alot some of the wires have shorted out or something. Not sure though, just thought I would throw this one out to see what you guys think. Thanks in advance.

A common problem is the wires in the door hinge area becoming brittle and breaking apart. I had problems in my '95 with my seat controls, locks and windows all due to broken wires in the drivers door hinge.

To repair, I took the door panel and kick panel off and spliced new wires in. I have heard of others making the repair by peeling back the rubber cover in the hinge, but there sure doesn't seem to be much room to work there.

Re: Front passenger seat door controls don't all work.

Another example of an American manufacturer not mastering their craft before moving on to sell us something better. As far as automotive technology and design have come in the last hundred years, and chafing wires from a pivoting hinge causing headaches. Stuff like this is inexcusable.
