door handles

greetings. i have an 84 944, and neither the passenger side door lock nor the trunk lock will open with a key, but it is possible to open them manually from within the car. any ideas on how i might get them working?

sorry to reply without an answer, but i have a door handle problem also...
one cold morning i tried to open my driver side door and there was a snap and now it won't open from the outside on that side "Du müssen scherzen!".
i'm pretty sure its a plastic piece in there that got brittle from the cold weather and snapped. i just want to know if this has happened to n/e 1 else. and is it an easy fix?

i think the tumbler in the locking mechanism is busted... i just got my trunk lock to open with a key. *it was a real bitch having to climb into my trunk, over my subs, to open the hatch* i'm not having any luck with the passenger side though... nothing has snapped inside that i know of.
