mad tv vs. snl

if i were to ask this question 2 or 3 years ago i think mad tv would have killed snl, but now-a-days since they got rid of most of their good people, i would have to go with snl, but snl has also lost most of their good people also, i think that the only thing that snl beats mad tv at is writting, since the actors on mad tv are better. its a dillema

my ultimate vote goes to............................the current snl over the current mad tv.

I'm gonna go with Mad TV. I never laugh at SNL anymore. And I just can't stand the fact you can watch the actors read the cue cards. All I can see on SNL anymore are peoples eyes reading what's already been prepard for them to be said.

Mad TV, SNL died along with Chris Farley and the cast he worked with. Every season after that was just more lame than the previous.

Re: mad tv vs. snl

I prefer to watch reruns on In Living Color. Nicole Sullivan on Mad TV was funny, and so was Will Sasso. If I had the money some of the networks do, I would try and put together a show with all the funny comedians from both shows. Who would you top 5 cast be??

Well hell...SNL would have won by a long shot with me until about 3 years ago...farley left, sandler left, then all they had was tracy morgan, chris katan, molly shannon and will ferrell and was just hangin on by a thread...after all them left, it kinda sucks ass...i only watch weekend update now because jimmy fallons funny and tina fey is frickin hot

You've all seen the "Priceless" credit card commercials, right??? How's this one:

Funeral Costs to your parents: $7k
New Truck for your parents: $23k
Payments to the family you've torn apart: $136k
Killing yourself, a 26 year-old woman, and her 4 year old Daughter from Street Racing: Not worth it...

Funny? Didn't think so... Save racing for the track

Rest in Peace, Brandon: Fly on, Freebird!

i like the guest appearances and the live music of SNL, but i think Chappelle's show is way better than both of them

Id have to say Mad TV, but like you all said, SNL was badass back in the day, with 'da beers' fan club and all that. SNL also had some really funny guest playoffs like the cheers one where they all started singing like they were original cheers characters, and sometimes the guests are funnier then the SNL cast. (there were two with that chick from cheers, one was really the original characters, and the other was SNL's cast acting them out).

Re: mad tv vs. snl

Hmmm...Mad TV is getting kinda stupid as time goes on, I mean some of the skits are pretty lame. But I still laugh at the show way more than the new SNL. Stuart is kickass! SNL died when Cheri Oteri left.
