Exhaust Tip Question..

Hey guys, HAPPY NEW YEARS, well anyways I know I was it somewhere but I couldn't find it.. How do you get that color at the end of your exhaust? It's like heat-treated I think.. or something.. Well anywho how do you do that?

Re: Exhaust Tip Question..

Well you could fabricate an exhaust in metal, chrome it and heat it up with various heat sources

Other than that the usual way is by spraying clear blue, orange and other colours over a silver base.

There is a tips page on the Tamiya site that demonstrates the technique on a motorbike exhaust. Can't find it at the moment.

Its called a Titanium tip, the best way would get some titanium look, if they make it that small of a pipe, and just polish it until it gets the finish you want, that is how the real exhausts are made.

SchuberT has got a good idea, i gotta try that out and see the results.. Or you can also brush paint it on with a little bit of clear orange inside and clear blue on the outside.
