Post my eclipse VS Tranny Shop......

Ok most of you dont know my cars been down and out for about 2 weeks now. New turbo, 20 psi, redline tranny fluid, next day track day. 1st run down clank clank, chipped teeth off 2nd gear shaft and intermidiate gear shaft, 3rd gear fork and flywheel cracked. Well running redline in a 120k mile tranny I think did the trick. Well after getting it into the shop come to find out new tranny + labor is $1500 or rebuilt tranny with parts is $1500. Well Im also serving a 1 week suspension from work for a code of conduct issue which should be concluded weds dec 31st if im not terminated. Anyhow Its been an on going battle with the shop and I. Ive tried to get the price lowerd and also asked about getting my own parts then get em installed. The shop owner disagrees because hes getting no profit from the parts n such. Im like ok, your charging me $900 for parts(2 shafts, forks, flywheel) and $600 labor( reasonable). Ok i can get the parts for about $300 from dsm members around my area. But he refuses to use my parts i could get. My cars all taken apart and dissembled. Actually the guy thought my dual stage boost controller was a nitrous incert( he says" you ruind your tranny because your running to much nitrous was his first guess). Then I told him it was a boost controller, no nitrous was ever used in my car. Well anyhow im in a battle between parts, price, and labor. Anyone ever have battles from any shop? And what did you do while your car was on downtime? Im getting withdraws big time, especially when I got a new turbo in 1 and a half weeks earlyer.

Re: my eclipse VS Tranny Shop......

I can see the reason for him not wanting to use your parts, he orders them he can guarantee them, he uses yours he cant. Dont ask me why it works that way, but it does.

That's why I'm glad my dads friend lets me use his place and helps me out when I need something done on my car.

Good luck!

if he doesn't know what a boost controller is then he's an idiot and you'll be ripped off faster than you can count to one.

Don't bother sounds like he's a clown
