1996 24 valve spark plug wire replacement?

Hello all,

96 24V Taurus, need to replace spark plug wires. I can see that the wires exend from behind the intake manifold, just under the wipers. I can't seem to get to it, or remove the plastic under the wipers. Can anybody help? Do I need to remove the intake manifold?
