Where to start with a check engine light

The check engine light comes on all the time, however the Rodeo runs great? No problems. However that stubborn light stays on without reason it seams. What should I check, or replace. Sparkplugs?

Number one issue with the CEL and a Rodeo I have found is with the Gas Cap.
Next time your CEL comes on, leave your gas cap off over night. Then when you put it back on the next morning make sure it clicks 5-6 times.
The CEL should go out after driving 2-3 miles.

If that fixes it, from that point forward, whenever you get gas make sure and tighten the cap tight enough.
I found a new gas cap did not help.....
